Nordic Cross Country Skiing Preparation – Exercise Video 1

To get the most of our skiing holiday we can prepare our body with some gentle exercises, building up slowly to increase strength and balance. Take it easy, we don’t want to injure ourselves.

This video will start with a warm up and provide a set of simple exercises to get you fit for cross-country skiing.

Equipment needed:

  • a kettle bell (I use a 6kg but you should use a lighter version if that suits you best, or if you don’t have one you can use a bucket)
  • dumbells (or water container etc)

Start light with your weights, you can increase weights as you get stronger.

  • elastic band to create resistance (you can use this to increase conditioning as you get stronger)
  • A brolly or walking stick for lunges to help with balance
